After a difficult year of trying to keep up with all of the latest COVID-19 guidelines and rules set forth by the provincial government, the Weyburn Skating Club is excited to promote this year's graduating skaters.

"Our season wrapped up last month and due to restrictions, we were not able to host our Skating Carnival where our skaters showcase their skating programs and skills they have been working on all year for family, friends, and the community, as well as spotlight our graduating skaters for their last year," told Abbey Forseth, Skating Director for the Weyburn Skating Club.

Since the club was unable to highlight their graduates in their usual Skating Carnival or in-person events this year they have reached out to local media to help share these four local girl's accomplishments.

"Sydney Spencer is 18 years old and is finishing her grade 12 at the Weyburn Comprehensive School. Sydney has been skating since the age of 2 and has been a show stopper ever since. She has blossomed into the most beautiful skater; so graceful to watch. (our littles love watching her on the ice). Sydney is an incredible young lady. She is extremely thoughtful, kind and possesses qualities that will serve her well into her future career as a nurse.
