Weyburn was represented in the Peewee and Bantam age groups at the Legasse Tournament in Regina on the weekend. The annual tournament features teams from across Saskatchewan and Alberta.

The Bantam AA Beavers opened the round robin Friday evening against the White Butte Broncos, where they picked up a big 10-0 shutout. Saturday morning, they were back on the diamond, where the took on the Regina Pacers. The Beavers tripled their opposition, winning 6-2. Sunday, they resumed play against the Saskatoon Blue Jays, who edged past the Beavers 4-3.

Finishing 2-1 in round robin play, the Beavers were then off to the semifinals, where they took on the Sask Five Giants. The game was tied at 1, so off to extra innings, they went. There, the Giants picked up three runs, to win the game 4-1, eliminating the Beavers.

The Bantam Beavers return to action Tuesday night when they travel to Regina to face the Buffalos.

The Peewee AA Beavers were in a tough pool for the tournament. They started out Saturday morning when they lost 6-0 to the Calgary Coyotes. Saturday afternoon, they dropped a 7- decision to the Regina Buffalos. They did bounce back for their game Sunday morning against the Estevan Haulers, winning 7-2. The Beavers did not advance to the playdowns.
