The finals are now set for the Big Six Hockey League.

For the second time in three years, the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings will be playing for the league title. This time, they are hoping to come away with the victory.

For the Carnduff Red Devils, they are looking to capture their first league title since 2007.

The Wheat Kings advanced after picking up a 5-2 win over the Bienfait Coalers Monday night on home ice. Yellow Grass was lead by Mike Onstad, who had a pair of goals, and Tucker Neuberger, who added in a goal and an assist.

The Wheat Kings opened the scoring in the first period when Jesse Watson got the puck past Bienfait netminder Jackson Walliser just 4:23 into the game. He was assisted on the goal by Thomas Carleton and Shelby Gray.

Yellow Grass opened the lead up to 2-0 when Onstad scored his first of the night. The assists on the goal were credited to Dylan Frey and Carleton.

Before the first period was over, the Coalers would respond. Dylan Herzberg would slip the puck past Tanner Erickson with just seven seconds left on the clock. He was assisted by Preston Erickson and Keegan Malaryk.

In the second period, the Wheat Kings came out firing and quickly opened up the lead with a pair of goals just under a minute apart. Onstad scored his second of the game at the 3:11 mark of the second. The power play marker was assisted by Tucker Neuberger and Devin Cobbold.

Then, 52 seconds later, Brad Riege would score. He was assisted by Troy Miller and Brendon Vertefeuille.

The Coalers would reply with a goal with 12:46 remaining in the second. Herzberg scored his second of the game. He was assisted by Matt Bourassa and Malaryk. It would be the last time the Coalers could get anything past Erickson in the Yellow Grass crease, though.

The Wheat Kings added one more goal with just under five minutes remaining. Neuberger would find the twine behind Walliser, with Kyle Mryglod and Braden Mellon assisting.

The Wheat Kings will now take on the Red Devils for the league championship. The dates for the series have yet to be determined.
