The Walk to Remember is an event on October 15th, which gives women and men the opportunity to honor their children who have died during pregnancy or as an infant.

October 15th has been proclaimed Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day in Weyburn, you can read more about it here.

"This is our fourth annual walk to remember and it was started four years ago in memory of my daughter that passed away, she was a full term baby that passed away at birth," explained Lisa Loustel, Founder of the Walk to Remember.

"I started this just for anybody who has had a miscarriage or stillbirth infancy death, SIDS, just a walk so people can come out and pay tribute to their lost baby."

The Walk to Remember takes place at 2 pm, at Riverside Park on Sunday. Loustel advises people to come a little early to register and get a balloon for the balloon release which happens around the start time of 2 pm.

There will be bouncy castles and refreshments available and child-friendly activities, as well as a raffle, which is being used to raise money for the Family Place.

"First prize, you can win $500 cash, second prize is a Swell Water Bottle basket that's worth $150 and third prize is Hillberg and Berk earings. If anybody is interested in buying tickets those will be available at the Walk to Remember," announced Loustel.

"The Balloon release is really the power point of the walk. People to come out, even if they don't want to walk, and they just want to come out and release the balloon and not do the walk is fine too," mentioned Loustel.

"You have to come out to see it to actually appreciate that whole powerful balloon release that we do."

Loustel added, that taking part in the Walk to Remember is healing for people who take part.
