The Bridge School Program in Weyburn has been around since the early 2000's and is there to ensure the success of students struggling with the larger school setting.

"It's meant to bridge students back into the regular programming," says Lynn Little, Director of Education with the South East Cornerstone Public School Division. "So students would take some of their core courses on an individualized basis through the bridge setting and then transfer back to the comprehensive school to take other courses."

There are some changes coming to the program this coming school year.

"The change is it's a relocation of the program," says Little. "Then it makes some of the services that we offer at both of our comprehensive schools offer a wider ray of courses as well as student services supports and it's more readily available for the students."

The Bridge School Program usually has between 10 to 16 students per year and is generally more focused on grades 10 to 12.
