The 36th Annual Communithon runs October 20th - 21st with a change happening to the Saturday schedule.

The first annual Concert Jam involves seven bands performing individual hour long concerts at the Cugnet centre, starting at 1pm.

Bluegrass, Country, Folk and Gospel music will be represented by the different acts.

Last years total amount raised for the nine member agencies of the Weyburn and District United Way was $119,271, $10,729 short of the $130,000 goal.

"This year we have five new organizations along with the nine from before that have all requested funding, so we're really hoping that our community will get behind our changes we have made, our new events so that we can satisfy some of the requests from these different organisations," explained Sandra Alexander, Executive Director of Weyburn and District United Way.

Tickets cost $50 each and available from the Weyburn Police office, Weyburn Review, Prairie Sky Coop and online from the Weyburn United way.

50/50 raffle tickets are also going to be available around town and if all of them are sold, will raise $5000 towards the total for this year.

Alexander also spoke about how the Friday of the Communithon remains the same. There will still be children from the community performing throughout the day with their schools.

Other members of the public are able to apply to the United Way in order to have a time slot to perform.

Taylor Cameron and Landon Field are the 2017 Superheroes.
