The Town of Radville has been seeing some changes this year. Improvements were made to the infrastructure, including a newly paved Main Street.

As Discover Weyburn is celebrating Radville today, we caught up with the town's Mayor, Rene Bourassa.

"We had some major work on the infrastructure, on our sewer lines and stuff, we've been relining and saving quite a bit of money. We had a little bit of help from the government," he shared. "Taxes are probably higher than we want to see them, but we're seeing a little bit of an end result, we've got our main street paved from top to bottom, so it's great."

Bourassa said they consider their town to be a community hub.

"We've got two big machinery dealerships that are stabilizing our economy. And it's an active town, but we consider ourselves a hub, you know like for the surrounding areas, your Lake Almas, your Minton, your Gladmars, Ceylon, Khedive," he listed.

He shared his sentiments on the people of Radville.

"There's lots of spirit there, there's lots of character, old and young," he expressed. "I think Radville's got a big heart, the people there. Even though we upped the taxes they're bearing with it and hopefully they can see some spin-off from it."

He added they had their sewer lines re-lined, which helped save money and enabled them to pave a few more roads. There has also been a lot of fundraising efforts put toward the opening of a new daycare, which Bourassa said should take place later this fall.
