Some more snow is falling on the southeast today. About two to four centimetres is expected in the weather system coming through today, which will then turn into extreme cold, according to Meteorologist Terri Lang. She said Environment Canada is predicting temperatures to drop to -30 with windchills making it feel even colder.

"We may get into those extreme cold warnings by mid-week so people should be prepared for that," said Lang.

Lang stressed that people should be bundled up in layers during the cold snap if they must go outside as it's the air between the layers that will keep them warm.

"Don't go out if you don't need to when its this cold because hypothermia is a risk if you're out too long," said Lang. "Plus if you're out venturing on the highways always check the Highway Hotline before heading out for road conditions and be prepared. If something were to happen on the road and your car breaks down or something like that make sure you're prepared to deal with that cold air and that you have a safety kit in your car at all times during the winter. It's winter in Saskatchewan and we have to be prepared for anything."
