The Southeast College has started their Food Bank Challenge for the second year, pitting each of the College Campuses against each other to see who can donate the most food to the food bank.

“As part of our commitment to enhancing our student experience and to encourage our students and staff to help to give back to the communities that we serve, we are very excited to launch our inter-campus competition once again this year,” explains Sheena Onrait, Marketing and Communications Manager, Southeast College.

"The competition is between our main campus locations in Estevan Moosomin and Weyburn. We started on December 1st and we will weigh all the campuses on December 19th and then the campus with the most weight is deemed the winning campus for the year."

"There's no prizes or anything it's just bragging rights for the year."

Estevan and Moosomin were combined last year and had the edge over Weyburn and Indian Head and won.

Weyburn Campus is looking to get the win this year.

“We had such fun with the Food Bank Drive last year, our staff and our students really got involved and everyone was so excited to participate," said Onrait.

Each Campus has a collection bin. Teachers and Students are encouraged to fill the bins throughout December until the deadline of the 19th.

The wider community is also invited to take part.

"If the public wants to contribute and help their centres campus win, they are more than welcome to come to our locations and drop off their food bank donation."
