The community came together yesterday to Blow Away Hunger in Weyburn. The annual campaign expanded this year and was a joint effort by all three radio stations in the town: AM1190, Magic 103 and K106.

Blow Away Hunger brought in donations for the Weyburn Salvation Army Food Bank, which will help them through their busy Christmas season, according to Community Ministries Coordinator Jennifer Lorinczy.

“You know, ordering turkeys for everybody,” Lorinczy said, naming one of the ways they help those who need it in the community at Christmas time. “Anything left over will go towards next year.”

While there is still some counting to be done, Lorinczy announced the total was over $3300. She explained it will help at Christmas time, and into the early months of the new year when donations are traditionally down.
