Wildlife can be beautiful and make a great subject for a photograph, but conservation officers are reminding people to keep their distance after the public hampered the removal of a moose in Weyburn earlier this week.

"They are wild animals and, you know, if you get a bull during the rut it can be pretty aggressive and sometimes a cow with a calf can be very defensive as well with their young. So, I think what you're going to want to do is make sure, if you've got any pets with you, you're going to want to back off and walk away slowly and that kind of stuff," said Conservation Officer Lindsey Leko.

Leko added they remove wildlife from city limits often and never want to see an animal have to be put down. He reminded people to keep their distance and let officers do their job when removing wildlife from the city.
