The Weyburn Police Department have received complaints of fraud.

A Weyburn resident has reported $2600 lost after falling victim to a scam.

The incident is under investigation and joins a list of scam based complaints the City police have received in recent months.

Scams may come in the form of a phone call, email or contact on social media.

The Police Service reminds everyone that if something seems odd, it probably is.

Common scams to be aware of going around Weyburn:

  • "Canada Revenue Agency are coming to get you if you don't pay now"
  • "Family member is in Jail and you must post bail now"
