From five and under, to 18 and over.

All the age groups were covered this weekend, including four groups of adults, as dancers tripped the light fantastic in Weyburn.

Thirteen hundred dancers of all ages converged on Weyburn to take part in a dance competition. They were students at 22 dance studios from around the province.

"It takes hours, you know, scheduling, going through the entries, just planning the volunteers, and all that stuff." said organizer, Marley Brown.

Participants and parents take a break during the dance competition"First the teachers send in the entries, and then we sort them all, and then we make our schedule, and then, it's up to the dancers from that point on. " added Brown. "We have two adjuticators, one is from Calgary this year, and Saskatoon, and then we bounce back and forth."

The judges were guided by certain criteria. "They're looking for technique, and performance, and costumes play a role in that, and, cuteness of course." she said.

The event took up the entire weekend, lasting 14 hours on Saturday, and then another full day on Sunday.
