The Weyburn Police Service has released the report from an accident which happened in Weyburn this morning.

At about 11:55 am Thursday, November 23rd, 2017 the Weyburn Police, assisted by the Weyburn Fire Department and Weyburn EMS, were dispatched to a report of a medi-chair having been struck by a vehicle.

A 76-year-old female was taken to the local hospital to be examined but is believed to be suffering no significant injuries.

The investigation has shown that the medi chair was crossing Souris Avenue near First Street and was crossing mid-block when struck by a vehicle travelling east on Souris Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Weyburn Fire had to remove the medi chair operator from beneath the vehicle.

No charges will be laid in this matter.

Weyburn Police Service reminds all Motorists, Medi-chair Operators and wheelchair users to be watchful for other users of the roads.
