Some exciting news for a number of Weyburn residents this morning. Crews have wrapped up patchwork on Government Road and officially opened it back up for public use.

As of 8:30 this morning, the city had removed construction fences and pylons to allow traffic to once again use the main thoroughfare.

The section of Highway 35 that runs directly through Weyburn has been under construction for roughly three months after the project was estimated to be finished by the end of August. A proper resurfacing of the busy street will be done in the springtime of 2019.

It's a day that many thought would never come, especially those who live on Government Road. Earlier this week, residents who live on the thoroughfare received handwritten notes from the city, thanking them for their cooperation during the lengthy process.
