Farm Credit Canada's Drive Away Hunger food drive campaign to help stock the shelves of the Salvation Army food bank.

Donations were received from around the Weyburn area and were donated to the local food bank.

"Over the summer, our food donations drop off significantly. people are away on vacation and out of their routine so it does affect donations that come in," said Jennifer Lorinczy with the Weyburn Salvation Army. "Our shelves do get low at this time of year and this is the perfect top-up for them."

She says that the donations are greatly needed to make sure those who use the food bank have supplies for the Christmas season.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings also came down to help unload donations for the campaign. The hockey players put down their sticks and picked up crates full of items donated by the community to the food bank.
