Smoke from the fire was visible for a long distance due to the temperatures. (image courtesy Jamie Blunden)Emergency crews in Stoughton, along with the Fillmore RCMP detachment, responded to a car fire in a car wash mid-day Saturday. According to the RCMP, the vehicle started on fire in one of the bays of the car wash and appeared to be a complete write-off by the time the fire was extinguished while the building itself appeared only to have cosmetic damage. There were no injuries reported in the blaze.

The crews who responded to the fire had to deal with less than ideal conditions, as the temperature at the time of the fire was -31°, and the wind chill made it feel like -37. The cold air also helped a large plume of smoke to develop, which was visible for miles.
