The Midale/Cymri Fire Rescue held a training session for representatives from 28 volunteer fire departments in surrounding communities on Saturday.

The topics discussed and practiced were; STARS Air Ambulance landing zone training, SPSA rapid response team capabilities presentation, Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association critical incident stress management presentation, and SaskEnergy/TransGas natural gas safety awareness training.

"Throughout Saskatchewan volunteer firefighters play a vital role in the event of an emergency," said Fire Chief, Laverne Hockey. "With the assistance of SaskEnergy and other organizations, the Midale/Cymri Fire Rescue was excited to host this training that will keep us better equipped and to make sure we have the tools required to ensure the safety of our community."

Hockey adds that it is very important for the fire departments to be prepared in the event of any emergency.
