The long winter months can be a tough time for many in southeast Saskatchewan. Those struggling with their mental health can join a support group to help them through the rest of the winter.

The Canadian Mental Health Association in Weyburn is offering a six-week peer support group on Wednesday nights starting February 21.

"I simplify mental health as our ability to cope with our environment," explained Weyburn CMHA Program Director Tasha Collins. "So, it could be that you're having a rough time at work, or it could be that you're having a rough time within your personal relationships, your friendships, or maybe it's a youth who's having issues with their hockey team or somebody on their hockey team. All of those things affect our mental health and that's what this support group will be able to help with."
