A group prayer and sing along was held at the steps of Weyburn City Hall on Victoria Day.

A group called the Filipino Canadian Ambassadors for Christ of Saskatchewan (FILCACS) led the prayer with members of several local churches attending.

Cameron Weber, president of the Weyburn Ministerial Association, explained the group's message of hope for Weyburn.

"That we would have God's blessing on the city and that we would begin to prosper, more so, and that the spirit of suicide would be gone from our community and that we can see life and wholeness come to our community."

He explained the group is led to travel the province by a prophecy from 2004 that says Saskatchewan will be prosperous.

Weber says all members of city council were invited to the prayer for Weyburn, however, none attended. The group also travelled to Pangman yesterday to pray for that community.
