The housing market in Weyburn right now is what one would consider a buyer’s market. That’s according to Winston Bailey, with Weyburn Re/Max. Housing prices have levelled off, and are lower than they were a few years ago. With that in mind, many are taking the chance now to purchase a home in the Opportunity City.

“Our sales have increased over last year at this time,” Bailey explained. “We’re running about the same amount of inventory in Weyburn as what we have seen for about two and a half years now, but surprisingly we are up over last year.”

Bailey said the prices of new homes do vary, but the majority of the purchases have been in the $200,00 to $300,000 range, which tends to be the most popular range for many. Some higher priced homes have also moved on the market, including one sale of a home priced at over $1 million.

While the prices have levelled off, Bailey doesn’t expect them to begin to move back up any time soon.
