A Bienfait woman charged in relation to an accident that killed taxi driver Bisho Kalappurakkal and injured his passenger Dylan Gonas plead guilty to two charges of impaired driving in Estevan Provincial Court Monday. The charges of impaired driving causing death, driving while over .08 causing death, and dangerous driving causing death were stayed by the Crown.

The accident happened on June 24th, 2017, just west of Bienfait at the junction of Highways 18 and 39. A westbound SUV, driven by 59-year-old Debra Hamman, collided with the car being driving by Kalappurakkal. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. His passenger, Gonas, was injured in the accident and transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
