The Southeast Regional Library has made some changes to how the virtual programming looks. The Adult Programming and Children's Programming at the Weyburn Public Library these days is mainly virtual, and it has become a joint effort between Weyburn and Estevan.

Due to the government regulations put in place last year, and the resulting staff downsizing, there was one programmer in Weyburn and one in Estevan.

Now, Weyburn's Cora-Lynn Sexton is providing Children's programming for Weyburn and Estevan, and Estevan's Jess Kelly is providing the Adult Programming for both libraries.

Branch Manager of the Weyburn Public Library, Katherine Wagner, said this was determined after the recent hiring of Jess Kelly, and it plays to the strengths of each programmer.

"Cora-Lynn is an expert in early childhood development, she really loves doing the kids programs, and then Jess is more interested in the adult programs, so I think it was good for them to be able to do a little bit of what they're meant to do rather than having to do both, since everything is virtual anyway these days," she commented.

Wagner said, so far, they haven't had any complaints about the virtual programming.

"From what we've heard, they seem to like it. I mean, people always miss the in-person programs, but we just can't do them right now, so knowing the limitations, people seem to like it," she noted.

She added there's a bit more to the virtual programming, with the editing and uploading of the videos, but overall it has been going well.

Wagner also reminded, even though the programming is mainly virtual, patrons still have the option to visit the library in person to browse the selection during regular hours.
