Residents of Macoun will be happy to know that they no longer have to boil their water before using it.

Carmen Dod-Vicary, the Chief Administrative Officer for the village, explains that the advisory has been officially lifted as of noon today.

"We have gotten our required samples back, they've all come back clear so the water is good to go again."

She acknowledged the residents of Macoun and their understanding during this time.

"We just want to say a hug thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding in this and I know it's frustrating and we did what we could to get it lifted as soon as possible. We really appreciate everybody's understanding."

She explained that the process to lift the advisory can be a lengthy one.

"It goes to a research lab in Regina. We send away regular testing every two weeks for our water treatment plant to ensure everything is good. But when we have an incident like this, we have to take additional sampling and we have to take it a little more often. We had to take a total of six samples and it gets sent away and it usually takes a day or two for them to process it and get the results back to us."
