More than 225 individuals have been inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame and a Weyburn man's name is being added to that list this weekend.

On Saturday, Art Mainil will be inducted in the Class of 2017 for his commitment to the first independently owned inland grain terminal in Canada.

The Weyburn Inland Terminal helped Saskatchewan producers have more control over their crops, and Mainil believed farmers should have the right to sell their grain as they see fit.

Mainil passed away in 2011 but his legacy lives on in front of Weyburn City Hall as he was inducted into the Walk of Fame in 2013.

His legacy will now continue on at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon in the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame.
