The Midale school will be taking part in a national campaign to promote awareness of Autism.

Katie Emde's six-year old son, Avery, has Autism.

As part of the national campaign, she is taking part in fund-raising activities, and appreciates the support of the Midale School. "The school will be putting their shirts on inside out on the third. And they have a few other little things going on." Emde told Discover Weyburn.

She explained that many Autistic children don't like the feel of clothing tags on their skin. "Kids with autism like to either not wear clothes, or wear clothes without tags. So, InsideOut will take place on April 3rd, and it promotes everyone to take part, wearing their clothes inside out. " she added.

Sun Country Health Region will have a 'sensitivity' board at the school that day, to help demonstrate how some people can be overly sensitive to things like tags on clothing.

The InsideOut is part of a national fund-raising effort. "Autism Canada really promotes that being different is OK. That it's not something to be scared about, that everyone is some different, and that's OK." said Emde.
