There's been another report of fatal overdoses, possibly related to fentanyl-laced cocaine, in the province.

Maidstone RCMP responded to a sudden death complaint at a residence in the town Friday morning. Upon arrival, one man was found dead and another was receiving medical care from EMS. The second man died on the scene.

This comes after two overdose deaths in Saskatoon last weekend caused police there to issue a Twitter appeal to drug users who may have purchased the fentanyl-laced cocaine to turn in any drugs purchased from a dealer named "Joe Bro" or "Little Joe". There have been a total of eight overdoses in Saskatoon since last weekend, three resulting in fatalities.

Now, RCMP are asking people to turn in any illicit drugs they suspect may contain fentanyl, no questions asked, by calling 911. They warn people not to handle the drugs.

Weyburn Police Chief Marlo Pritchard said Weyburn has yet to see any fentanyl overdoses in the city, but local officers have been issued Naloxone, just in case. Naloxone can stop the effects of opioids, such as fentanyl. Pritchard said it is possible the fentanyl-laced cocaine that killed users in Saskatoon last weekend could make its way to Weyburn streets.
