There's been an exciting change at the Southeast College.

Students who have been accepted to the University of Regina are now able to take a selection of first-year classes right here in Weyburn.

"University classes are now open for registration, meaning that accepted U of R students can go in through their U of R portal and register for the classes that we are going to be offering for fall," said Sheena Onrait, manager of marketing and communications for Southeast College.

Taking courses at the College can be a big cost saver for students.

"It's the huge cost savings. We anticipate that students can save up to $10,000," said Onrait. The savings come from saving on housing and grocery fees.

The college is also offering 10 $1000 scholarships for the first University of Regina students to register before June 30.
