Silver Heights Bible Church has a new pastor after four years of searching.

"I had retired for a year and a half, I'm 67 so I'd retired from the last pastorate I was taking part in, in Vauxhall, Southern Alberta and we needed to take a rest and we did that, went across Canada for about six weeks, totally enjoyed that, came back and did some plumbing, electrical all that kind of stuff, just to bide my time, fill in a few pulpits where there were no pastors for the next year," said Pastor Ken Easterbrook, Lead Pastor, Silver Heights Bible Church.

Pastor Easterbrook said he couldn't get the passion out of his heart to talk about Jesus so he sent out some applications to churches including Silver Heights.

"We felt really at home here when we came to 'Candidate'. I felt like I was coming home. So that's a weird feeling but that was a great feeling and that helped us make the decision."

Easterbrook previously pastored for over 25 years in different locations in Canada including for eight years in Big River, Saskatchewan.

In 1990, Easterbrook went to Bible school at the age of 40 having had a career in the electrical industry and working at a Lumberyard.

November 19th is the induction service for Pastor Easterbrook at Silver Heights Bible Church, at 2 pm.

"We've been here for three months as of the 1st of November and we knew that was coming along somewhere in that 3 month period."

"Anybody who wants to come is invited."

Pastor Easterbrook added that he likes to be in the community, meeting people and looks forward to getting to know more people of Weyburn.
