Students at Queen Elizabeth School were entertained by a special musical guest on Wednesday.

Gordon Gerrard, who is in his first year as music director for the Regina Symphony Orchestra, visited the elementary school to share his passion for music.

"Music is one of those things that is such a integral part of our lives and we take it for granted sometimes, so my goal is to make people examine why it's important to us, why we like it, and what it does for us and how it helps us to express ourselves," said Gerrard, who was in Weyburn for a RSO concert at the Cugnet Centre Wednesday evening.

His presentation included a talk about how long humans have been making music, how music affects people, and ended it with a fun conducting demonstration with the group.
