A local family is heading a fundraiser to raise awareness, and funds, for cystic fibrosis.

Mike Weger and his family are selling tickets to a dinner at Mckenna Hall on May 26.

Individual tickets are $60, and to reserve a table of eight is $500.

Weger's daughter, Teresa, was two when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

"Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects primarily the lungs and digestive system, causes excessive mucus in the body, and leads to infections and potential lung failure," said Weger. "When our daughter was diagnosed we decided we were going to do everything we could to help people with cystic fibrosis."

The dinner features Weyburn musicians for entertainment. Tenille Arts and Private Drive will be performing at the dinner.
