A change announced Monday morning for how some security issues will be handled at Country Thunder in Craven this year. The festival organizers stated starting this year, certain types of bags will be banned from Main Street and the main stage area.

The banned bags include backpacks, large purses, coolers, and camera bags.

Gerry Krochak is the director of marketing and media relations with the festival.

“I think it has a lot to do with the world we live in, but it always comes down to the safety and comfort of our fans; that’s always been our number one priority.,” he explained.

Bags which will be permitted include clear plastic bags, one-gallon freezer bags, and small clutches.

Craven will be hosting Country Thunder July 12th to 15th this year.
