Charges under the Traffic Safety Act have been laid by the Weyburn Police Service after a close call for one of it’s members during a traffic stop Thursday evening.

A vehicle was pulled over on Bannerman Street, by Weyburn Comprehensive School. During the stop, another vehicle passed by. The officer moved out of the way, and the vehicle was brushed by the passing vehicle. The officer wasn’t injured.

Police are reminding motorists to slow down when passing any emergency vehicle, including police, ambulance, fire, and tow trucks. As well, motorists are encouraged to provide room for those emergency personnel to work.
