The leader of the Canadian Nationalist Party, Redvers’ Travis M. Patron, is facing multiple charges in Regina after an incident earlier this month.

The Regina Police Service says they were dispatched to the 1900 block of Victoria Avenue in Regina after the report of an assault, Two women said they had been assaulted by a man. Roughly 45 minutes later, officers found a man who matched the suspect's description walking on Victoria Avenue. Police attempted to speak with the suspect, but he refused. 

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment for their injuries. 

The Regina Police Service said in a release the suspect had been in a conversation with the two women earlier in the evening. He had offered them a ride home, and when they refused, the alleged assault took place.

Police learned the identity of the suspect and arranged for him to be interviewed. On November 9th, Patron was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault and breach of probation. 

He made his first court appearance on the charges on November 12th and was released with conditions. His next court date is November 25.

Patron took to social media after the release was issued, and stated he would be challenging the charges in court. 

Patron ran in the recent federal election in the riding of Souris-Moose Mountain.
