Pedestrians walking in the downtown area will need to use some extra caution. The new downtown traffic lights installed earlier this week do not appear to be fully synced up quite yet.

At least one of the pedestrian lights was giving conflicting signals this morning. The City of Weyburn issued a press release in response to the matter.

"The City of Weyburn is working to address the technical issue regarding the new traffic lights at the intersection of Third Street and Souris Avenue. Safety of our residents is a top priority for the City and our engineering department is working to resolve the matter. We ask that the public be mindful while using this intersection as work continues in the area."

As always, pedestrians should look both ways and check to ensure no vehicles are coming and the light is red on the street they are trying to cross before doing so.
