The Weyburn Wildlife Federation is holding a wildlife seminar Saturday afternoon.

"It's not just about how to catch fish and how to be successful and hunt, it's also talking about conservation, and promoting the sports of fishing and hunting as really good wholesome activities for kids and others as well." said one of the presenters, fishing expert Jason Matity.

Matity told Discover Weyburn several topics will be covered during the afternoon. "Marcus Simons, who has a specialty in big game hunting, will be talking about elk hunting around the province, and Floyd Hendrickson will be talking about coyote trapping as well."

The event takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion in downtown Weyburn. It begins with lunch from 12:00 to 1:00, and continues until 5:00. Lunch is not included in the $25.00 entry fee.

"Twenty-five bucks gets you four hours of fishing and hunting knowledge, so it's quite the value." added Matity. "Of course, any money raised goes to the Weyburn Wildlife Federation to enhance fishing and hunting opportunities for anybody who wants to do that."
