It's a project they've been working on for a year to help bring investment to the city. Weyburn Regional Economic Development shared a booklet with councillors at Monday night's City Council meeting.

"What we've tried to accomplish is do all the homework for potential investors," shared Twila Walkeden, executive director of  Weyburn Regional Economic Development. "So, typically if they're interested in investing in a community they're going to try to get access to a lot of this information themselves, but what we've done is we've compiled it all into a couple of different documents."

Walkeden told councillors the booklet, An Investors Guide to the Opportunity City, includes 2015 census data and helps show investors where Weyburn may have gaps in its economy. It includes stats on annual household spending and compares Weyburn to other jurisdictions on issues like commercial property tax.

The guide is available on their website as well as at their office.
