The Weyburn Police Service with a reminder for residents - if you plan on riding your quad or other ATV, do so outside the city limits. The message coming after police having to deal with a few instances in the past week of people riding the vehicles within the city.

Deputy Chief Rod Stafford explained there can be a ticket issued under the city bylaw for those who break the rules. The ticket doesn’t have a voluntary payment option, and will generally result in a court appearance and a fine if one is issued.

“Generally, we deal with them by education and warning,” Stafford added. If the situation is persistent, or if the riders make a mockery of the scene by getting to locations where police can’t get to them, then when located, a ticket will be issued.
