Radville's regional park profited 'big time' at a fundraiser held this weekend, raising over $25,000.

Chairman of the Radville Laurier Regional Park Board Brett Tuchscherer said the money will go towards capital improvements to the recreation centre to make it more accessible.

"More handicap accessible options for viewing, accessible washrooms, doors, ramps, things like that," shared Tuchscherer. "We have a fairly new pool that was constructed in 2013, open to the public at that point. It does have a handicap lift as a part of that already so this is to improve the accessibility in the remainder of the facility."

He said everyone who came to the event on Saturday night at the Radville Regional High School had a great time.

"We had Richy Roy's Big Time Gameshows. It was really good. Everyone I've talked to so far was really impressed by the event, the hosts, Richy was great. They all want to see it again."

The evening also included a dinner, bar, a 50-50 draw, silent auctions and live auctions. Tuchscherer said the live auction raised over $16,000 and the silent auction raised over $4,000, calling the fundraiser a complete success.

Tuchscherer said the whole community helped support the event, and he thanked the many volunteers.

"The Radville Regional Park Board, all the members helped out immensely. We had a great turn out because of that. We had a lot of volunteers that donated their time cooking and setting up for the event," said Tuchscherer. "I want to thank the Radville Firefighters for working the bar and Jessica Jack was our MC and I wanted to thank her as well. She did a really good job."
