RCMP say the two suspicious deaths in Midale were the result of a murder/suicide. They issued the statement at noon Friday, stating they have concluded their investigation.

The investigation determined 61-year-old Mary Lou Clauson was killed by 74-year-old Patrick Ng, both of Midale. Clauson was an employee of Ng, who was the owner of Midway Family Restaurant where the two bodies were found on April 20.

The causes of death are not being disclosed at the request of both families, and the RCMP stated they will not be providing further updates.

The investigation consisted of a forensic examination of the scene by the RCMP Forensic Identification Unit, several interviews of potential witnesses by RCMP Regina Major Crimes, and forensic autopsies of both persons. From the time of the discovery of the deceased male and female, the RCMP was not seeking any suspects and believed this to be an isolated incident.
