In recent years, many people have grown weary and skeptical of any door to door canvassers for various charitable organizations. This is due to the increasing number of scams over the past few years. However, one door-to-door campaign in Weyburn right now is on the up-and-up.

The Canadian Red Cross is in the community, going door-to-door canvassing for support for the organization.

“They are going to be asking for banking or credit card information for monthly donations, and do not ask for cash donations,” explained Candace Lamb, a communications coordinator with the Canadian Red Cross. “They’ll be collecting for monthly ongoing support for Canadian Red Cross activities across the country.”

Lamb added they should be wearing a Red Cross jacket or vest and will be carrying identification. She also said if anyone feels a door-to-door canvasser is not on the up-and-up, to contact the police.
