Prokott, the Parks Coordinator for the City of Weyburn. She said, for the most part, they have been booked solid for the summer, and there are bookings right through until the end of August. She added that those who have been camping, haven’t just been from the southeast, or Saskatchewan.

“We have visitors from all around the world,” Prokott elaborated. “We’ve had, so far this season, visitors from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, and a lot of the U.S. states as well including California and Nevada.” There have also been visitors to the campgrounds from across Canada.

Prokott explained those who wish to take advantage of the camping don’t necessarily need to book a site, but it is recommended.

If you are planning on taking advantage of the long weekend with a camping trip there are some tips to ensure you have a stress-free trip.

"Test everything before you go, so make sure you test in your driveway or on your street or whereever you are, make sure everything is working before you head out to the park because it's hard to get parts during the long weekend," says Susan Minard, one of the owners of Minard's Leisure World.

Whatever activities you take part of this long weekend just ensure you are doing them safely.
