While it may not seem like a typical activity in the fall, campsites at River Park are being booked solid for the month of December.

It's all part of the River Park Sparkles Tour, which was launched for the first time this fall by Weyburn Tourism. Locals and tourists will be able to enjoy walking and driving tours through the campground to take in all 26 of the fully-decorated and lit-up campsites.

"We've just reached out to businesses and organizations, and we have a few individuals that have reached out to us, to reserve a campsite within River Park, and they get to decorate how they'd like, so it becomes a Sparkling Tour throughout River Park campground," explained Niki Nagy, Marketing Manager with Weyburn Tourism.

Nagy said they have only three sites left, so if you've been meaning to join in on the fun, it's time for action.

"If they're interested in a campsite, they can give us a call at the Tourism office at 306-842-4738, or you can also contact me, Niki Nagy, at marketing @ weyburn chamber dot com and we can get you a reservation form," she said.

The Sparkles Tour will run from December 2nd to January 4th, with setup happening the week prior, beginning on November 24th.

Nagy noted there is a specific schedule for when tours will be in-vehicle and when they'll be on foot.

"Monday to Thursday would be driving days, and then Friday to Sunday would be walking days," she said. "We want people to be careful, because it's starting to get icy and we just don't want any incidents happening there."

Any new and exciting Weyburn event wouldn't be the same without refreshments and entertainment.

"We will be kicking off this wonderful event on December 2nd," said Nagy. "We're going to do something at 7:00. Weyburn Tourism is actually providing some hot chocolate and goodies, and we have some accompanied carollers joining us from the Weyburn Comp."
