The Weyburn Independent Riders held their annual motorcycle Toy Run this past week. Roughly 50 motorcyclists and Santa Clause rode around the city, then ended off at River Park, where they presented all of the toys and cash donations to the Salvation Army for their Christmas hampers.

"So we got a whole bunch of toys," said Jennifer Lorinczy, Community Ministries Coordinator for the Salvation Army in Weyburn. "They probably brought in a hundred toys and we received donations of just over a thousand dollars."

The Weyburn Independent Riders work very hard to help the Salvation Army every year.

"Wednesday, Thursday and Friday The Weyburn Independent Riders sat at Peavey Mart, Wholesale Club and Wal-Mart collecting toys for the Salvation Army to use mainly at Christmas time but throughout the year as well," added Lorinczy.

This group of motorcyclists doesn't get paid for their hard work, it comes from the goodness of their hearts.

"It's a pretty wonderful event and it's all volunteer based," Lorinczy said. "The guys just volunteered their time from 10 in the morning till seven at night collecting toys for us."
