Yet another Sask Party Leadership Candidate has visited Weyburn. Gord Wyant, was in town taking in the weekends Culture Days.

"Listening to that message about renewal, going back and making sure we were true to the founding principals of this party," Gord Wyant, former Justice Minister and current MLA Saskatoon Northwest. "You know I've got support from a number of the founding members of the party who originally founded the party in the first place who are concerned about ensuring that we're true to the founding princples."

Although Wyant's policies are yet to be released he mentioned he has some big plans for the party including keeping an eye on the economy here in the south-east. Wyant also plans to bring transparency back to the party. He plans to launch a formal investigation into the much-discussed Global Transportation Hub.

"The conflict of interest commissioner to review his legislation to make sure that we have in place the best in class legislation when it comes to transparency and accountablilty especially with respect to MLA's and I'm going to ask all the independent officers of the legislature to review their legislation and I think it encumbent on them to do that as independent officers."

Wyant also mentions he wants to talk to the people of Saskatchewan to get an idea of the issues people are concerned with. He says he wants to see Saskatchewan stand up to the federal government when issues contradict what we need.
