The Top Employer designation recognizes Saskatchewan employers that lead their respective industries as exceptional places to work, and Southeast College has been named as one of Saskatchewan's Top Employers. 

This for the third consecutive year.

"I don't think it's old hat for us, it's just the realization that we really are a great place to work and a great place to be employed," noted Manager of Marketing and Communications with Southeast College, Sheena Onrait.

She shared what that means from the perspective of an employee.

"We have a great teamwork environment here at Southeast We're a really collaborative institution, so our projects are multi-faceted," she noted. "We have a bunch of people who weigh in on our projects and we really attack things as a team, so I think that's probably one of the biggest things for myself is that we have a very team-friendly atmosphere here."

Employers are evaluated using a variety of criteria and are compared to other organizations in their field to determine who offers the most progressive and forward-thinking employee programs.

"I guess if you're looking at some of the criteria, we really do have some really great health and family benefits, which is great when you've got a young family and you're raising kids and everything, and that's always a bonus," Onrait shared. "Being an educational institution, we have our commitment to learning, so we want to instill that in out students, and in order to do that, we instill that in ourselves as well."

"We're really proud of all of our staff and the dedication they give to learning not only their position but other positions within the college and knowing who to best refer students to when they come through our doors or they call us," she noted. "We really take pride in being a student-first organization and really finding answers to all of our students' questions, whether they be big or small."
