The Weyburn Campus of Southeast College held a 'Spend the Day with us' Day on Tuesday. It is an opportunity for students to take part in classroom activities and see what college is like.

"We had about 15-20 students that came and participated in both our practical nursing class and our hairstylist class," explained Sheena Onrait, Manager of Marketing and Communications, Southeast College who went on to say "It went fantastic, they were so happy for one with the facility, they said the facility is absolutely gorgeous and cannot wait to become a student of Southeast College."

Enrollment applications continue to be accepted until courses start but there is a bonus for those who apply by June 30th. Students who apply before that date are eligible for a Southeast College Entrance Scholarship.

"We've collected more than 76 applications in the last fifteen days so we're pretty excited about that number but we still would encourage all students who are interested to come out and find out more about the college."

Practical nursing has a high demand and has extra requirements for the course. Onrait says it is best for students to apply for that course sooner rather than later.

Onrait also said the college has an open house Thursday, March 8th 3 pm-6 pm.

"We would encourage any potential students and their parents to come out and ask some questions, apply right there if you'd like, and again have a good feel and a look around of our facility."

Onrait said it is happening more often for students as early as grade 10 to show interest and find out options for college courses.

"It's really great to see students are being proactive with their education."
