Weyburn's spray parks are officially open for the long weekend, but due to the dry weather, it comes with some restrictions.

"Due to the water bylaw the parks will have restricted hours," explained Tina Clay, aquatics manager for the City of Weyburn. "For the time being, they'll be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily."

Clay is referring to the water conservation bylaw City Council put into effect on Monday.

The weather this May long weekend should be favourable for the city's two spray parks, located at River Park on South Hill and Don Mitchell Park on Coteau Avenue, with temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius in the forecast.

Next month will see the city's outdoor pools open to the public. The last day of public swimming at the Weyburn Leisure Centre indoor pool is June 3. The outdoor pool opens June 11. The Don Mitchell paddling pool is scheduled to open on June 18.
