The names of the CAA Saskatchewan 2017 Roadside Assistance Awards of Excellence recipients have been released.

Weyburn's Top Notch Towing have won the award for the fifth year in a row.

"It's very humbling to receive this. There are only a few contractors that win that award every year and we've been fortunate enough to win this the last five years in a row," explained Ryan Williams.

Williams added there is are criteria, that CAA use to decide who wins the awards.

"We've been fortunate enough the last few years to be able to meet that (criteria) and serve our customers in the Weyburn Area."

The awards dinner with presentation happened in October.

During the awards ceremony, a memorial candle in remembrance of Courtney Shaefer was lit.

Shaefer was a truck operator and CAA contractor from Esterhazy who lost his life in March of 2017 on duty.

CAA asks drivers to slow down when there are flashing blue and amber lights to 60 km/h due to tow truck operators working on vehicles.
