A traffic stop by the Estevan RCMP on Saturday resulted in a search warrant and arrests on Sunday.

Police say they conducted what started as a routine traffic stop Saturday after a vehicle was suspected of being involved in a dangerous driving incident. As a result of the stop, and investigation, 38 grams of cocaine were seized.

Two women, aged 51 and 38, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. One of the women was later found to be hiding a small quantity of crystal meth in a body cavity.

Further investigation led police to a rural property near Frobisher. On Sunday, officers executed a search warrant on the property. The RCMP say the search turned up more than a kilogram of crystal meth, 300 grams of a cocaine based substance, and a .22 caliber assault style rifle.

The results of the search added charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm while prohibited and careless storage ofa firearm to the charges already being faced by th e51 year old woman.

A 60 year old man from Regina was also arrested. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm without a license and careless storage of a firearm.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in provincial court on Tuesday. RCMP have said no further information will be released at this time.
